I’m from Nova Scotia but moved to Newfoundland and Labrador when I was 24. Shortly after my 26th birthday I was diagnosed with Bipolar. Depending on the psych doctor you talk to— it’s 1 or 2.
I write a lot about how my experience with the illness. Not because I want people to feel sorry for me, but because I believe it’s a very misunderstood illness and hope my words will educate people and make others feel less alone. I call myself a squeaky wheel when it comes to access to mental healthcare.
Some other things about me:
I miss Leonard & Mo.
Coffee is like a hug in a cup.
It makes me happy to see others happy.
I’m deeply flawed.
Pounding waves used to calm my soul, now I prefer when the ocean is glass early in the morning.
I live in a home called The Shoe that I love very much. It belonged to a friend of mine (Jean Briggs) that passed away. Never again will it be sold because of what it means to me.
